PROJECT 3
TROPICAL WILDLIFE DISCOVERY UNIT
BRIEF
For our given site, the Bukit Jalil Recreation Park, we were to conduct a site analysis and design responses after which, we designed a discovery unit that could accommodate us with an additional discovery partner for a short span of time (2-3 days). This unit is to include spaces for relaxing, user specific activity spaces, discovery spaces and a washroom. The unit is to be designed in the context of the site in terms of functionality and aesthetics as well as materiality.
OUTCOME
A 1:100 scaled model, of 100sqm dimensions, along with 3 A1 presentation boards showcasing the design and finally, a compilation of workshop outcomes and design processes.

SELF REFLECTION
We were tasked with designing a nature discovery unit in the Bukit Jalil Recreational Park for 2 specified users in our chosen site showcasing the intention of the design and the narrative of the architecture generated. The study of users, precedents and the site context was not without its challenges. Incorporating both a poetic, and interesting design, while realizing the buildability and construction details of the design also had its challenges. However, following the process and actualizing the design into the resulted compilation of works, including the site analysis and the development of the design proved to be ultimately worthwhile.
Adhering to the brief with a user specific design supported by precedents for that design hindered my design process a lot. Often times I found myself stuck. Moreover, to integrate poetry to create something interesting, and bringing that creation to a physical design, following the concept generated was challenging. However, the process was rewarding in the end. The struggles and setbacks along the journey helped me realize where I lack and gave me an insight to how I can make my design process smoother the next time
